Bale is obviously a chain and the food is fairly standard throughout the island however it's not the food I'm commenting on this time.

I'm came in mid evening, during the dinner rush and there was a young lady behind the counter making a sandwich. She turned to me, asked what I wanted and gave me my total without looking at the register. Tax and all. Without batting an eye, she yells my order to the back. The phone ringing, orders yelled to back, orders coming to the front, she looks at people, calling them to the counter for pick up. It was impressive to watch. Within my 10 min wait, she had to have taken over 5 phone orders, 7 in line and managed to get everyone who had already ordered in the restaurant their food. Watching to her efficiency was unbelievable. I didn't catch her name but wow, I was just sitting there, watching it all and extremely amazed. If only more people worked with that kind of calm under pressure. Definitely a sight to see. Give the girl a raise!

I been here so many times ....and wowwww never wrote a review maybe cause my fat cells were doing the happy dance after the first bite!!!!!
I love Ba-Le I never had a bad experience at any Ba-Le location .... but this review is for this location!

The Food  I have ordered sandwiches, Pho, and different plates.... ALL have been so yummmo!!!  My go to sandwich is Tofu Sandwich with extra cilantro.   I love Summer Rolls and Spring Rolls too!!!  The summer roll and Spring Rolls here --- Ono ----it's a  star sensation to the tummy!!  Why only 4 well I had them at others places in Hawaii Kai and like those better. Nonetheless it's still worth ordering it here!!
The portion and price is great!

The cleanliness  it's a clean establishment- sometimes the tables /seats needs wiping but that's just business

Parking is good  depending on the time of day.  The share a mall parking with other eating establishments and businesses so day time can be hectic -- evenings are perfect time to go as parking is abundant

Service is awesome!!!  always kind, patient, and smiling!!!  They always say Hi and bye too!

Overall- I say I could eat here everyday if I could afford to  I suggest you check it out!!  See you there!  Fat cell doing the Happy   Dance for sure!!!

Ba-le has always been comfort food for me. Ive been eating banh mid as a young child and at one point went on strike and did not like it and only wanted mc Donald's like the other kids. I wanted the happy meal toys that I never had! Lol

I appreciate it more now that I'm older. I just wish there was more of them around. They seem to be disappearing and now it's just an hassle to get one unless I'm in the area.

My husband used to get the lemongrass chicken banh mi and I eventually converted him to trying the combination banh mi which also had pate and lots of Chinese parsley which he hated in the past.  I never get the other stuff so I don't know if the pho is good.

The prices went up from the past and they're now about 6-7$ but it depends on the location you go to. The sandwiches also got a little smaller too .. or maybe it was just big before cause I was small? Nonetheless, it brings back childhood memories!

Bale is my new Vietnamese Hale.

Seriously, Bale is the bomb. In Hawaii Kai shopping center (the one with CVS and McDonalds) Bale is tucked away next to H20 Watersports and other restaurants. Parking does get busy but there are plenty of stalls in the entire lot.

I have ordered their spring rolls over vermicelli, Chicken Papaya Salad, beef pho, and lemongrass chicken sandwich - all of these items are delicious! Spring rolls are very delicious, not too oily yet, very crunchy. Chicken Papaya Salad is healthy, light, and very satisfying. Beef pho - the broth is ridiculously tasty and the meat is good. The lemongrass chicken is very tasty and always served hot. Also, their portions are pretty generous. I don't know if I've ever left this place NOT full.

Prices are very reasonable, especially considering their portions. Most items are below $10. For a chump like me, I can afford it.

Please please come here to eat Vietnamese food in Hawaii Kai. You can't go wrong and its so delicious. Pho is perfect for a chilly day/evening and fills you up so well. Its worth your while!
